
Credit Analyst
SUMMARY:Conducts a thorough analysis of commercial credit requests combining the analysis with a researched and documented loan package for the loan committee and board of directors to review.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Analyze financial statements and tax returns to prepare accurate analysis packages for the loan committee & board of directors to review.
- Uses Abrigo/Sageworks (or other software) to enter financial information and analyze results for commercial loan requests.
- Effectively identify underlying risks associated with a loan request.
- Recommends credit ratings based on a thorough assessment of the request and/or existing loan.
- Uses the internet to research company/licensing/newsworthy information related to commercial loan application/guarantor/industry/competition.
- Works with the loan officer to obtain information for complete, clear loan presentation keeping them informed of progress/documents needed, etc.
- Uses Excel (or other software) to combine information into packages for loan presentation.
- Must maintain complete confidentiality of all information.
- Monitor commercial compliance with loan covenants.
- Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned by the Sr. Credit Analyst, Chief Credit Officer, or other CVNB management.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business major preferred with 1+ years work experience as a commercial banker and/or commercial credit analyst preferred.

Other Bachelor’s degrees will be considered with a combination of 5+ years of work experience and training in commercial banking and/or commercial credit analysis.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Applicant needs to possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL & ACCOUNTING SKILLS

Applicant should be able to read and interpret financial statements and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must have good computer skills, especially Excel.
