Questions & Answers for the Cash Card and/or the Gift Card
The Cash Card must be activated before it can be used. To activate your card, visit www.cvnb.com and click on "The Cash Card" link or call 1-866-224-9135. The CVV2 code is the three digit number located on the back of your card.
Q. What is The Cash Card?
A. The Cash Card is a prepaid MasterCard® with a specific dollar value that you can use to make purchases up to the amount available on the Card. Funds can be reloaded on a Cash Card.
Q. What is The Gift Card?
A. The Gift Card is a prepaid MasterCard® with a specific dollar value that you can use to make purchases up to the amount available on the Card. Funds cannot be reloaded on The Gift Card.
Q. What are the denominations for The Cash Card and The Gift Card?
A. You can purchase a Cash Card in denominations of $25 - $2,500. You can purchase a Gift Card in denominations of $25 - $500.
Q. How can I use my Cash Card or Gift Card?
A. Your Cash Card or Gift Card is used just like any other MasterCard® card to make purchases. Each time the Card is used, the amount that is spent, plus any fees, will automatically be deducted from the balance remaining on the Card.
Q. Where is my Cash Card or Gift Card accepted?
A. The Cash Card or Gift Card will be accepted anywhere Debit MasterCard® is accepted.
Q. Can I use my Cash Card or Gift Card at more than one merchant?
A. Yes, as long as there is a balance remaining, you may continue to use your card for purchases.
Q. What if the item I want to purchase costs more than the value of my Card?
A. When you present your Cash Card or Gift Card as payment, simply inform the cashier of the value remaining on the card. You may then choose another form of payment to pay the remaining balance. Restrictions may vary by merchant.
Q. Can my Cash Card or Gift Card be used at an ATM?
A. A Cash Card may be used at an ATM. A Gift Card cannot be used at an ATM.
Q. Does my Cash Card work at gas stations?
A. Yes, the Cash Card or Gift Card will works at gas stations. However, the Cash Card or Gift Card will not work with the "pay at the pump". Your card will work inside just as a regular Debit Mastercard®.
Q. How can I find out my balance and know what transactions have been made?
A. Account balance and transaction information can be obtained by calling Customer Service at 1-800-999-3126 or visiting our website at www.cvnb.com and clicking on the Login tab then selecting The Cash Card or The Gift Card.
Q. What happens when the funds are used up?
A. The Cash Card is a reloadable card; you may reload additional monies onto the card by visiting any Cumberland Valley National Branch or on-line at cvnb.com. A Gift Card can no longer be used for payment. Destroy the Gift Card by cutting thru the magnetic strip.
Q. Can I add additional money to the card?
A. Yes, if you or the purchaser have purchased a Cash Card. The Gift Card cannot have additional money added to the card.
Q. Does the Cash Card or Gift Card expire?
A. The Cards are valid until the "Valid Thru" date shown on the front of the Card. After the "Valid Thru" date the remaining balance may be refunded to you. We encourage you to use the entire amount before the card expires. If your card is a Cash Card a new card will be mailed to the address of the card purchaser on file with Cumberland Valley National Bank. Q. How do I buy a Cash Card or Gift Card?
A. You can purchase a Cash Card or Gift Card simply by stopping by any Cumberland Valley National Bank Office.
Q. Can I give the Cash Card or Gift Card to anyone?
A. Yes, it is completely flexible and can be sent to anyone.
Q. Is there a fee associated with the purchase of a Cash Card or Gift Card?
A. There is a $5.99 purchase fee for the Cash Card and a $3.99 purchase fees for the Gift Card.
Q. What do I do if my Cash Card or Gift Card is lost or stolen?
A. Contact the Card Customer Service Center immediately at 1-800-999-3126. If after normal business hours, contact us a 1-866-224- 9135.
Q. What should I do if I think there is an error on a transaction made with my Cash Card or Gift Card? A. If you think there is an error involving a transaction made with your Cash Card or Gift card, such as a purchase you didn't make or an incorrect amount charged to your Card, please call us at 1-800-999-3126 as soon as you discover the error. If you have a problem with any goods or services you purchase using the Card, please attempt to settle any disputes arising from the problem directly with the merchant who provided the goods or services. The funds represented by the card balance that are accessible with the card are not insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other state or federal government agency, constitute a general liability of Cumberland Valley National Bank and are subject to risk of loss.
