Loan Assistant - Laurel County, KY

SUMMARY:  Perform routine secretarial and clerical tasks under direct supervision of Market CEO. Prepare loan documents and files, ensuring accuracy of information. Assist loan officers with collection of information and processing of loan requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Open all routine correspondence and reroute as necessary. 

  • Prepare correspondence, submit for approval and signature, copy, and distribute as required.
  • Greet customers both by telephone and in person, taking messages as necessary.
  • Assist customers regarding Bank services and inquiries.
  • Compile data for reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain files relating to Bank business and correspondence in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Prepare appointment schedules, meeting arrangements, and travel itineraries as necessary.
  • Provide customers with loan inquiries with application forms and monitor for completeness.
  • Prepare all general ledger and deposit tickets or disbursement checks for loans.
  • Prepare partial collateral releases and LTV worksheets.
  • Complete basic cash flow.
  • Order Title work.
  • Complete appraisal order form.
  • Maintain knowledge of loan policies & procedures.
  • Prepare loan packages for board review and board approval.
  • Prepare data entry information regarding payment and loan renewal activity.
  • Handles advances on lines of credit or construction loans.
  • Obtain credit bureau reports for review by loan officer.
  • Carry out such other duties as may be assigned or requested.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Above average ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
 
  • Must have demonstrated clerical skills and abilities to effectively assist staff to achieve the Bank's strategic direction and anticipated results.
  • Must be able to work effectively with staff and customers.
  • Must be able to utilize computer terminal and software programs to complete assigned work.
